The speakers, Robert Shepard is an Assistant Professor of Geography in the School of Global and Integrated Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at UNL. A population geographer, his research blends quantitative spatial data with critical humanistic inquiry to analyze geographic disparities relating to race, ethnicity, gender, and class.
James Benes is a part-time Ph.D student in the Geography program in the School of Global and Integrated Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at UNL. His research centers on the connections between humans and the environment in the Quaternary Period, as well as the historical period of the northern Great Plains.
