Academics are often told to write as often and as much as they can, but balancing several projects simultaneously can be challenging. The aim of an April 5 workshop is to give researchers tips for making progress on their writing and staying motivated.

“Building a Publishing Pipeline: Concrete Strategies for Increasing Your Writing Productivity” is 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Kauffman Academic Residential Center, 630 N. 15th St. Registration is due April 2.

Presented by the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity, this workshop will help researchers conceptualize writing projects as moving through a pipeline in which they can make daily progress and keep everything flowing towards publication.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to:

Establish a sustainable daily writing practice.
Experiment with a tracking system to analyze where to focus writing and research efforts.
Make a concrete action plan for moving several projects forward simultaneously.
Celebrate the process of moving work from one stage of the pipeline to the next.
