A generational transition meeting will be held during the Nebraska Grazing Conference in Kearney on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm CT.

Prime rib sandwich will be served for supper, with meal counts due one week prior. You may attend the workshop on Tuesday evening, even if you are not attending the Grazing Conference.

Several respected Nebraska ranchers and farmers have agreed to share their experiences with generational transitions. Learn from this panel of producers, who have experienced transitions, each in their own way. Join us at the Buffalo County Extension Offices on Tuesday evening to learn from their challenges and triumphs of family communication, financial viability, and legal tools.

The panel will discuss what worked and what did not work for their operations and families. An experienced attorney will also cover helpful legal tools to transition your farm or ranch to the next generation. Sufficient time will allow for questions from the audience.

To register, call Bethany Johnston at 308-348-2015 or RanchTransition@outlook.com.

The registration fee is $15 and includes supper (prime rib sandwich).

Walk-ins are welcome, but registrations are requested one week in advance for meal counts.

The generational transition meetings are sponsored by the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition and Nebraska Extension, with support from the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program with funding from the NIFA-USDA.
