The UNL Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is hosting roundtable discussions on challenges for women in STEM fields. Participants are welcome to bring brown bag lunches. Dessert and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will have the opportunity to network and engage in roundtable discussions on a variety of challenges that women in STEM encounter in their professional and personal lives. Tables will focus on a specific topic of interest, such as mentoring (both as mentor and mentee), navigating career transitions, navigating power differentials in one’s career, dual-career issues, integration of work and parenting, and other life challenges. Attendees will be encouraged to move to a different table so that they can participate in different discussions as they wish, and later will share highlights of their roundtable discussions.
This event is open to all faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. Registration is not required.
