This performance has been canceled.
The Concordia String Trio (CST) looks forward to sharing exciting music from Moravia, Germany, and Switzerland. You’ll hear the music of Moravian-born composer and Holocaust survivor Gideon Klein, one of the 16 string trios by prolific romantic composer Julius Röntgen, and a trio by the 20th century Swiss composer, conductor, and pedagogue Volkmar Andreae.
The CST explores and expands the eclectic repertoire of an under-appreciated genre—the string trio. This versatile ensemble has built a reputation for its exciting performances and innovative programs, juxtaposing pieces from the standard string trio repertoire with new compositions and little-known works of great composers.
The Concordia String Trio members are Marcia Henry Liebenow, violinist, Bradley University; Leslie Perna, viola, University of Missouri-Columbia; and Karen Becker, cello, Glenn Korff School of Music at UNLincoln.
Free and open to the public.
