September is Nebraska Archeology month. Join us in celebrating Nebraska Archeology with a special, live, virtual event: Exploring Earthlodges. Learn how archeologists find, study, and preserve earthlodge sites. Plus, we’ll explore how earthlodges were made and used by the first peoples of the plains. This program will include a demonstration of how an earthlodge would have been built - you can follow along using materials at home to learn more!
Presenters include Nolan Johnson and Kelli Bacon with History Nebraska, and Rebecca Wiewel with the National Park Service Midwest Archeological Center.
We will be broadcasting this program through Zoom and Facebook Live. To join on Zoom, register for this FREE program at https://museum.unl.edu/programs-events/, and a connection link and details will be provided to you via email. To watch on Facebook Live, visit our Facebook page (@UNSMMorrillHall) just after 10:00 a.m. on August 29th!
