Dr. Skibicka is an Associate Professor of Metabolic Physiology at Penn State and Lloyd & Dorothy Foehr Huck Chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
Research Interests:
1) Gut-brain axis control of motivated behavior for food and substances of abuse.
2) Novel behavioral consequences of gut-brain axis activation: investigation of impulsivity, stress, anxiety, and sociability.
3) Neuroanatomical and neurochemical mediators of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and GLP-1 analogs.
4) Neural substrates underlying estrogen’s control of behavior.
