The May meeting of the OLLI Baseball Interest Group will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Stauffer’s Cafe & Pie Shoppe, 5600 S. 48th Street. All OLLI Baseball fans are invited to attend. There is no need to register — just come to Stauffer’s and join the conversation.

Topics for the May meeting will include:

• MLB reports that April 2018 was the first month on record when there were more MLB strikeouts than base hits! What do you think about that?

• Eight MLB teams are on course to record over 100 losses. What does that say about the competition level of MLB?

• One day this week Bryce Harper lead off for Washington and Joe Maddon had Anthony Rizzo leading off for the Cubs. In this new era of statisticians running the game, does it make sense to have your best hitter getting the most AB’s? Stats say the first place hitter gets about 50 more AB’s per season.

• As we speak, Alex Gordon is hitting .278. Is he back?

• What happened to the 2018 Nebraska Cornhusker baseball team? Any chance they can make the Big 10 tournament?
