The July meeting of the OLLI baseball interest group will be held at 3 p.m on Tuesday, July 10 at Stauffer’s Cafe & Pie Shoppe, 5600 S. 48th Street.

Here’s some of the topics we’ll be talking about in July:

• Voting will be done for the 2018 All-Star teams. Did the fans get it right?

• There are some surprising teams in pennant contention at the midway point this year. What’s happening with the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, and Seattle Mariners? Everyone expected the Red Sox, Yankees and Astros to be good but what’s wrong with the Washington Nationals?

• We’ll re-cap the 2018 College World Series — Dave Van Horn must still by lying awake at night bemoaning a dropped foul pop-up that cost Arkansas a championship!

• Let’s take a moment to reflect on the greatness of Mike Trout — is he having the greatest season ever? Where does he rank among baseball “pantheon” of centerfielders — Mays, Mantle, DiMaggio, Snider, Speaker, Griffey, Jr., “Cool Papa” Bell, and others?
