Members of the Lancaster County legislative delegation, which includes senators Patty Pansing-Brooks, Mike Hilgers, Anna Wishart and Myron Dorn, have committed to attend the December meeting of OLLI’s political discussion group. The meet is on Thursday, Dec. 19, 3 p.m. at Stauffer’s Cafe and Pie Shoppe.

The senators will discuss their priorities and salient issues in the upcoming session of the Nebraska Legislature which convenes in January.

Issues that have arisen include the perpetual struggle to lower property taxes, increasing the member number from 49 to 55, prison reform, the high cost of insulin, and financial incentives for businesses. Lots more will be on the table, for sure.
