Institute for Ethnic Studies and the African American and African Studies Program, in celebration of Black History Month, present “A Time Remembered”—a documentary film by Victoria White, including a post-screening Q & A with the filmmaker. This is a film that explores the 2008 reunion of the participants and director of the transcendent 1966 documentary, “A Time for Burning”—a commissioned documentary feature that explores the attempts of the minister of Augustana Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska to integrate its church by reaching out to Negro Lutherans in north Omaha (earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Film in 1967). Free and Open to the public.
