Theatrix, the student run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will close its spring season with SMUDGE by Rachel Axler. It is a dark comedy that delves into the lives of expecting parents Colby played by Ciara Hergott and Nick played by Hunter Mruz. Please note that the show has mature themes.

SMUDGE is a contemporary play written by two-time Emmy Award winner Rachel Axler. It explores the sides of parenthood that we don’t always see. SMUDGE effortlessly exploits the American Dream while calling marriage and relationships into question. This is a show that will leave you to ask yourself the difficult questions we all have to face. A show that will stick with you both for its dark humor and its message.

The show is directed by senior performance major Brenna Hill as she closes out her last semester at UNL. SMUDGE stars sophomore performance majors Hergott and Mruz as well as Luke Glassman, an alumnus of the JCSTF. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at unltheatretickets.com or one hour before performance at the door (cash only, per seat availability).
