Dr. Emily Bick is the Entomology Department’s featured speaker for the April 19th seminar. She is an Assistant Professor for Precision Pest Ecology at The University of Wisconsin–Madison. The title of her seminar is “Automating insect monitoring in agroecosystems: an exploration in sound and light.”

Bick earned her M.S. and Doctorate in Entomology at UC Davis and her B.S. in Entomology at Cornell University. Her expertise is in digital, precision agriculture, and
applied agroecology. She works with field & forage crops and is doing innovative and novel work with sensors and remote sensing in management of insect pests in cropping systems. More information about her program can be found at: https://bicklab.com.
