Join the fun at the 3rd Annual Arbor Day Kick-off, “Birds, Bees and Flowers in the Trees” Trail Walk at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Kimmel Education and Research Center & Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard, Friday, April 26, 2013 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

The celebration begins at 11:00 am with a fun filled Arbor Day Kick-off by Dr. Connie Reimers-Hild and Dr. Deborah Weitzenkamp, UNL Extension Educators at the Kimmel Education and Research Center and Erik Olson, Manager of Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard. The Kick-off will take place in the Conference Room of the UNL Kimmel Education and Research Center located at 5985 G Road in Nebraska City, NE.

Take pleasure in a scenic walk through Kimmel Orchard’s Educational Trail narrated by Vaughn Hammond, UNL Extension Educator. After nature’s breathtaking trail walk, join Dr. Deborah Weitzenkamp and the Kimmel team for a beautiful sight full Butterfly Release, with nature’s cooperation. Relax while eating your brown bag lunch overlooking the picturesque home of the historic Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard. Enjoy a slice of Janie’s Confections delicious homemade cake compliments of the UNL Kimmel Education and Research Center & Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard.

So take a break and close out your week with the “Birds, Bees and Flowers in the Trees” Trail Walk at the UNL Kimmel Education and Research Center & Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard in Nebraska City. Remember to pack your brown bag lunch and favorite walking shoes! In case of inclement weather, a related educational session will take place in the UNL Kimmel Education and Research Center’s Conference Room.
