Waterwise solutions for more resilient landscapes.
Root production and management before planting.
Pruning young trees for better long-term branching and structure.
Tree Care Workshops are developed for public works employees, landscape managers, tree board volunteers, arborists, nursery and green industry professionals and landscape enthusiasts. The opening session, “Coffee with a Forester,” provides an opportunity for participants to ask specific questions about landscapes in their care.
Workshops are scheduled for March 18 in Hastings, March 19 in Ord, March 20 in Norfolk, March 25 in Lincoln and March 26 in Omaha. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and sessions end at 4 p.m. Registration is $50 (go online for a list of potential discounts), with lunch included in the registration fee. Sponsored by the Nebraska Forest Service and Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, these workshops are partially funded by the Nebraska Environmental Trust, a beneficiary of the Nebraska Lottery, and are held in cooperation with Northeast Community College and University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension.
