Virtual Location: Zoom
Target Audiences:
Brianne Wolf, (402) 858-8113,
Are you passionate about global food security, and want to find ways to accentuate your teaching and work with students? Or alternatively, would you like to know more about this area so you can inspire further inquiry and action among your students? The Global Guides Program could be for you!

The Global Guides is a cohort based, 7-month professional development program helping educators (formal and non-formal) from across disciplines build their knowledge and capacity around global food security to help inspire the next generation of changemakers! Sponsored by the World Food Prize Foundation and the Global Teach Ag Network, this program is open to any educator: from secondary to higher education to nonformal types like 4-H and extension; from biology and language educators to library staff and beyond: all educators are welcome and all can benefit. With the majority of the program set up as virtual engagement, the program does fund participants’ travel, food/lodging, registration, and other costs to take part in a 5 day immersion experience in concert with the World Food Prize and Borlaug Dialogues in Des Moines, Iowa, in October. This year’s cohort included high school teachers (biology, environmental studies, agriculture, library/media & other disciplines); university faculty in geography, entomology, agribusiness; university program staff, and 4-H and extension educators: from across 16 U.S. states and several countries.

Two Nebraska Global Guides were selected this year: Global Learning Coordinator for CASNR, Brianne Wolf, and Media Specialist at Pius X High School, Erin Willis. Join for this info session hearing from both participants and see if this could be right for you.
