Jamie Burmeister’s “vermin.me” project has resulted in over 520 installations of small ceramic figures, called vermin, in 22 states and 20 countries.

Burmeister has completed commissions for the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Crisp Recording Studios in Fayetteville, Arkansas and South Omaha Library. His sculptural work has been exhibited by the Des Moines Art Center, Bemis Center for Contemproary Arts, Arkansas Art Center, Sheldon Museum of Art, and Create Fixatein Los Angeles, CA. His awards including the Nebraska Art Council’s 2010 and 2007 Individual Artist Fellowship, Omaha Entertainment and Arts 2007 Best Public Art and 2006 Three-Dimensional Sculpture Awards, and UNL’s Trickey Memorial Award and Woods Fellowship. He earned an MFA in Art (sculpture) from UNL in 2005.

Burmeister will be scanning volunteers in a 3D body scanner in Richards Hall from 2-5 p.m. on Nov. 21st. Burmeister trades a 3D print and file in exchange for the right to use the likeness from the scan in his artwork.

Burmeister will give a free public lecture at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 21st in Richards Hall 15.
