Dona Nelson’s rescheduled artist lecture is today (Feb. 5th) at 11:30 a.m. in Richards Hall 218.

Dona Nelson is a painter and professor of painting and drawing at the Tyler School of Art, at Temple University in Philadelphia. She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants including the 2013 Artist Legacy Foundation Award, a Tesuque Foundation Grant, a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, and she is a 2011 Foundation for Contemporary Arts grant recipient. Her work can be found in numerous private and public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Soloman R. Guggenheim Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum at the University of South Florida in Tampa, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadephia, and the Committee of the Visual Arts/M.I.T. Collection, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her work will be included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial, and she will be having a solo show this spring at Thomas Erben Gallery in New York, NY.

Nelson will give an artist lecture on January 23 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall 15, on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus. Her visit to UNL is made possible by the Hixson-Lied Endowment and the MEDICI Art Group.
