Nebraska Extension and Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) will be offering BQA certification and animal handling informational meetings for beef producers.

Rob Eirich, Nebraska Director of BQA, and local Nebraska Extension Beef Educators will be presenting BQA best management practices, animal health stewardship, and animal handling. Beef cattle producers are committed to producing a quality, wholesome and safe beef product for consumers. These meetings will update producers on implementing BQA practices and answer continuing questions on packer requirements and FDA regulations.

These meetings will be Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification opportunities for those producers needing certification or recertification. There is a $20 fee for those wanting to become BQA certified/recertified, which is good for a three year time period. There are operation discounts for those certifying more than three individuals.

Session locations:
• Wednesday, October 3, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. CST, Red Willow County Fairgrounds, McCook, NE
• Thursday, October 4, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. MST, Lied Public Library, Imperial, NE

**Refreshments will be provided in Imperial and a meal will be provided in McCook. Please pre-register by October 1st to Erin Laborie at 308-268-3105 or erin.laborie@unl.edu.
