In 2013, hepatitis C killed more Americans than 60 other major, reportable infectious diseases combined, including HIV and tuberculosis. Of great concern, hepatitis C continues to pose a tremendous threat to the lives of Americans, especially as increases in injection drug use coupled with sub-optimal implementation of evidence-based practices contribute to a burgeoning health crisis.
