This lecture, “Digital Humanities and Data Justice: Lessons from Intersectional Feminism,” will be presented by our Uncommon DH Critic for 2020-2021, Professor Anne Klein, associate professor, Emory University. As data is increasingly mobilized in the service of governments and corporations, their unequal conditions of production, asymmetrical methods of application, and unequal effects on both individuals and groups have become increasingly difficult for data scientists, digital humanists, and others who rely on data in their work to ignore. How can the digital humanities intervene?

Professor Klein will also join us later today for an informal follow-up discussion as well as on March 25 for a workshop focused on the methodologies behind her recent collaborative article on “Abolitionist Networks.”
