Companies today have workforces comprised of an unprecedented FIVE generations:
• The Silent Generation: Born before 1946
• Baby Boomers: 1946 - 1964
• Gen-X: 1965 - 1980
• Millennials: 1981 - 1996
• Gen-Z: 1996
Historically, new grads would join companies and primarily be backfilling retiring employees. Today, older employees are working up to 10 to 15 years longer, so retirement turnover in down significantly, and the result is a very wide age span of employees working together on multi-generational teams.
