It’s the yuletide campus contest you’ve been waiting for, especially if you enjoy holiday baking and decorating competitions. Many Huskers will try…yet ONLY ONE can triumph in this all-out holiday battle spectacular. Put on your game face and be ready to get crafty.

Student contestants compete through three rounds of competition, with a number of contestants being eliminated after each round, until a single contestant is declared the winner. All contest supplies are provided.

This event is free and open to UNL students with Event Pass.
Participants get to keep their creations from Rounds 1 & 2.

ROUND 1: Decorate HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS.
Paint, color, and craft your best version of holiday ornaments with a Nebraska theme. Time limit: 20 minutes. Designs will be scored by a panel of judges. Top 15 will advance to Round 2.

ROUND 2: Decorate HOLIDAY COOKIES.
Use a variety of colored icings, sprinkles and edible decor to create holiday masterpieces that are almost too-good-to-eat. Time limit: 20 minutes. Designs are scored by panel of judges. Top 5 will advance to Round 3.

ROUND 3: Construct and decorate a HOLIDAY GINGERBREAD HOUSE
The final five contestants will each start with a basic Gingerbread House Kit. Using icing, candy, sprinkles, and other supplies, they will transform their gingerbread into a holiday wonderland. Time limit: 30 minutes. Final designs are scored by panel of judges. Only one will be declared the overall winner of the Holiday SHO-HO-HO-DOWN.

PRIZES:
Round 1 winners will receive award ribbons.
Round 2 winners will receive Nebraska beanies.
Round 3 winner receives a Nebraska-themed prize pack and is named the campus’s Sho-Ho-Ho-Down Champion!
