Dr. Jennifer Black, professor, Eppley Institute, Buffett Cancer Center, University of Nebraska Medical Center, will present the seminar “Protein Kinase C signaling in intestinal epithelial self-renewal and colon cancer.”
Dr. Black serves as leader of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Program in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and director of the T32-supported Cancer Biology Training Program in the Eppley Institute. Her laboratory program focuses on signal transduction and cell cycle control in cancer. A major goal is to understand the role of protein kinase C (PKC) isozyme signaling, and downstream AKT/PI3K and ERK/MAPK pathways, in control of tissue homeostasis and transformation, and to explore the potential of targeting PKC signaling pathways for cancer management and therapy.
