Nebraska Extension’s “Capturing Value in Cropping Systems using Cattle” conference and field day on Wednesday, April 4 provides a unique learning and networking opportunity for cattle operators and those involved in crop production. The program will take place at the University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center (ENREC) near Mead, Nebraska. Program topics include: 1) The UNL Beef Systems Initiative: can we sustainably produce more with the same resources?, 2) Nitrate toxicity: what is the potential when grazing cover crops?, 3) Oats planted after high moisture corn or silage: how much grazing can we get?, 4) Using triticale for spring grazing in soybean systems?, and 5) Grazing rye planted in corn and soybean systems: how do the cattle and crops perform?
