Hayley Shoemaker is an award-winning mezzo-soprano originally from the tiny town of Quinter, KS. She recently graduated with her Doctorate of Music Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a document focus on the study of Micro-opera. Hayley is passionate about the growth of opera in the Midwest.
Hayley delights in sharing her love of singing and feels equally at home on the opera, musical theater, and recital stage. This summer, Hayley made her debut with Lawrence Opera Theatre in the title role of Bizet’s Carmen. Past roles include Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), Third Lady (The Magic Flute), India (The Real Gemma Jordan), Rachel (The Highest Yellow), Angelina (La Cenerentola), Penelope (The Return of Ulysses), and Dorabella (Così fan tutte).
