During the month of April, our office is putting forth great efforts to raise money for our philanthropy, Alex’s Lemonade Stand. In 2000, four-year-old ALSF founder Alex Scott held her first lemonade stand to raise money to find a cure for kids with cancer while bravely battling her own. Alex raised an astonishing $2,000 at her first stand and set in motion what would become a national movement to fight childhood cancer.

Northwestern Mutual’s goal is to strategically develop a philanthropic plan by partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to raise money to fund research hours. Over $100 million dollars has been raised so far since 2000 with the development of Alex’s Lemonade Stand. When we raise funds for pediatric cancer, those funds are used for the following: to fund more than 500 cutting-edge projects, to create a travel program to help support families of children receiving treatment, to develop resources to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer, and much more.

Our goal on campus is to help spread awareness of this great cause with our own campus lemonade stand!
