The Nebraska Center for Executive and Professional Development launches the new Nonprofit Management Institute this fall. Serving Nebraskan nonprofit professionals, the institute offers three, in-person executive certificate programs in management, finance and fundraising to help nonprofit leaders refine the skills they need to make a larger and lasting impact on the communities they serve.
Held Sept. 13-14, the Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program offers a broad variety of content to sharpen skills in successful planning and building financial resources through fundraising, marketing and communication, financial management, and effective board management. In this program, you will examine the structure of a nonprofit organization and discuss how it works best to accomplish its mission. Learn about long- and short-term planning, the role of the governing board, the importance of marketing and communications, how to obtain financial resources, and how to best manage those resources to achieve the organization’s objectives.
Nationally known experts facilitate the two-day programs. Led by Jim Croft, principal of JW Croft Consulting Group who served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Chicago’s Field Museum and teaches nonprofit management in the MBA@Nebraska program and for the Kellogg School of Management Center for Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University, program facilitators include: Bela Barner, MBA; Matthew W. Charlton, Ph.D.; Ashley Ramchandani, MPP; Katy Scrogin, Ph.D.; and Patti Tuomey, Ed.D. Their past work experience spans leading organizations such as churches, schools and museums as well as nonprofits like the American Red Cross and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Registration for each two-day program is $650 per attendee. To register, visit: https://business.unl.edu/nonprofit. Cost assistance opportunities are available. Email emre@unl.edu for more information.
