Time:

Home Economics Building Room: 121
Additional Info: HECO
An Ouch! Workshop is to be held October 24th 2:30-3:30 in HECO 121. Come learn more about stereotypes and how to respond to them. This event is co-hosted by AFIRE (Advocating for Inclusion, Respect, and Equity) and CEHS Staff Council.

The OUCH! Workshop is focused on understanding the impact of stereotypes and biased statements. Most of us hear them and often we don’t know what to do or say in the moment. During this workshop participants will identify the most common reasons individuals remain silent in situations of bias and stereotypes. Participants will gain tools for speaking up against stereotypes without blame or guilt.

Dean Jones announced her intention to make diversity and equity a priority in CEHS this year so that we can achieve our goal of being leaders across the Nebraska system in this area. In order to achieve this, each of us in CEHS, can do our part by committing to increase our knowledge and skills to support diversity and inclusion. To help increase awareness, knowledge and skills related to diversity and inclusion, CEHS AFIRE (Advocating for Inclusion, Respect, and Equity) is offering several workshops over the course of the year.
