Sarpy County Fair Pie Donation Information and Guidelines
Please join us to enjoy a sweet treat at the fair! The public is welcome! Come and join in the bidding fun! Invite your family and friends! This is an opportunity for all 4-H members and 4-H volunteers to participate and showcase their pie making skills.
The Douglas-Sarpy County 4-H Pie Auction will be Friday, August 6th at 5:00 pm in the Open Air Auditorium at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds. The proceeds from the pie auction will be used to support the Douglas-Sarpy 4-H Council and 4-H program.
Please consider baking and donating a fruit pie to the auction or bidding on an item.
No cream fillings or perishable ingredients! Due to hot weather, we need to be aware of food safety protocol.
• Pies must be delivered to the 4-H office in the 4-H building at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds on Friday, August 6th before 3:00 pm.
• Please note that the pans and plates used for your baked item will not be returned. Please use disposable pans.
4-H pie baking participants are encouraged to recruit buyers for their own items or for others by personally contacting potential buyers and/or by mailing potential buyers an invitational letter to the auction.
A promotional flyer will be available from the 4-H Council by contacting Tracey Jones at tracey.jones@ops.org
Auction procedure:
1. Sale order number will be randomly assigned and will be attached to the baked item before the start of the auction.
2. The auction will be at 5:00 pm and conclude when all items have been auctioned off. Payment can be made immediately following the auction with cash or check.
3. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Sarpy-Douglas 4-H Program.
4. The baker whose pie brings the highest bid will receive a prize.
5. After the auction, it’s time to enjoy those pies!
We sincerely appreciate your support of these hard working youth and their devotion to the Douglas-Sarpy 4-H program!
