Take a respite from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and join the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum for a peaceful outing in nature as we acknowledge the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — with a hike at the beautiful Prairie Pines Nature Preserve (3100 N. 112th St., Lincoln) on Wednesday, December 20.
We’ll have two hike times to choose from: the early hike will begin at 6:30 p.m. (perfect for families with little ones); the later hike will begin at 8:30 p.m.
After both hikes we will gather in Prairie Pines main house to warm up with a cup of hot cider or cocoa.
Tickets for either hike are $5 per person (children age 5 and under free). Proceeds benefit the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum’s tree planting, garden making and environmental education work all across the state.
