Rebecca Fischer, violinist with the Chiara Quartet, and pianist Ann Chang join forces on February 9th to perform a recital of duo
sonatas entitled “Close to the Heart.”The program features two of the most beautiful sonatas in the violin/piano repertoire: Franz Schubert’s
Sonata in A Major and Johannes Brahms’ Sonata in G Major.Of the collaboration, Rebecca Fischer says, “We started playing together through informal sight-reading sessions. Over time we decided to turn this into a public recital, to invite others into our enjoyment of this great music.”
A passionate educator, Rebecca Fischer is a research associate professor and Hixson-Lied Artist-in-Residence at UNL and a violinist in the Chiara Quartet. Dr. Ann Chang (piano) is an active soloist and lecturer in the U.S. and Europe, and associate professor of practice in the School of Music.
