The Flyover New Music Series, aka Flyover New Music, is the new music series from the composition studio at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students.

The debut Flyover New Music Concert will feature six stunning new works by composers in the Glenn Korff School of Music, including three students new in the fall 2017 term. Following an all-composer performance of Steve Reich’s groundbreaking 1972 work Clapping Music, listeners will hear music for everything from steelpan to soprano, all performed by students at the Glenn Korff School of Music. The program includes Joshua Spaulding’s Like A Feather for marimba duet; Ian Whillock’s Salt Creek Rd. for marimba, violin, and electronics; and Krista Connelly’s Persistence in Three Portraits for piano, celesta, and percussion, as well as other new works by Wataru Niimoi, Spencer Perkins, and Louis Raymond-Kolker.
