Dawn Clements will lead a drawing discussion at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in Richards Hall, Room 15.

The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the School of Art, Art History & Design.

Dawn Clements creates works, primarily on paper, based on the spaces of her immediate (often domestic) environment and from visual passages of film and video. She received her AB from Brown University and her MFA from The University at Albany (S.U.N.Y.). She has exhibited her work in the U.S. and abroad, is the recipient of numerous fellowships and teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her artwork is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Saatchi Collection, the Tang Museum and other public and private collections. She is represented by Pierogi Gallery.

The Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series is underwritten by the Hixson-Lied Endowment, with additional support from other sources. The program brings notable artists, scholars and designers to the University of Nebraska; enhancing the education of our students and enriching the culture of the state by providing a way for the public to interact with luminaries in the fields of art, art history and design.
