Kris Graves will lead a photography discussion at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 25 in Richards Hall, Room 15.

The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the School of Art, Art History & Design.

Kris Graves uses art as a means to inform people about social issues. He also works to elevate the representation of people of color in the fine art canon; and to create opportunities for conversation about race and representation. He has been published and exhibited globally, including the National Portrait Gallery, London; Aperture Gallery, New York; and University of Arizona, Tucson. Permanent collections include the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Brooklyn Museum, New York; Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania; and The Wedge Collection, Toronto. He is based in New York and London.

The Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series is underwritten by the Hixson-Lied Endowment, with additional support from other sources. The program brings notable artists, scholars and designers to the University of Nebraska; enhancing the education of our students and enriching the culture of the state by providing a way for the public to interact with luminaries in the fields of art, art history and design.
