As part of a new collaboration between ICMEE, led by CEHS Associate Professor Kara Viesca, and the WIDA consortium, Diep Nguyen and Tim Boals will visit UNL’s campus on Oct. 11. Leaders in the field of multilingual learning and teaching, Nguyen and Boals will each give addresses to the CEHS community about their research.
At 9:30 a.m. in Henzlik Hall, Room 32, Nguyen will give a talk titled, “Serving Immigrant and Refugee Students: Considerations Beyond Language and Academic Learning.” At 3 p.m. in Teachers College Hall, Room 139, Boals will present his talk, “Ensuring Success for Multilingual Learners.” Finally, at 4 p.m. in the Henzlik Hub, Nguyen and Boals will take part in an informal fireside chat with the CEHS community. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and ideas for discussion, and will learn about the future of ICMEE and WIDA collaboration.
