Skeletal muscle accounts for a large portion of body mass in lean young individuals and is responsible for 70-90% of insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. In this talk, he will share recent findings revealing both redundant and unique roles of skeletal muscle ULK1 and ULK2 as we try to identify potential therapeutic targets to preserve muscle quality as we age.
