The Nebraska Department of Education and partners will host a virtual networking event on Tuesday, January 16 at 3pm Central for school food buyers and local producers interested in selling product to schools. Registration is required.
This event is intended for:
- School Food Authorities, including administrators and school nutrition directors, who opted-in to receive Local Food for Schools (LFS) funding in school year 2023 – 2024
- Nebraska local food producers AND local food producers within 400-miles from a participating Nebraska LFS school who are interested in providing minimally processed or unprocessed food products to schools
The Market Meetup will provide an opportunity for school buyers and producers to connect, network, and discuss options around local food purchasing for full utilization of Nebraska’s Local Food for Schools funds this school year.
We hope you will join us to grow farm to school connections in our state, boosting economic potential for local producers, distributors, and processors; and supporting schools in continual growth of exceptional school meal programs.
