Chris Innis, ACE, is the Academy Award® Winning editor and founder of Grindhouse Releasing, and Academy-Award® winning film editor of the critically-acclaimed thriller, The Hurt Locker. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a B.A. in film studies, and earned an M.F.A. in live-action filmmaking from California Institute of the Arts, the creative arts school founded by Walt Disney.
Innis won the British Academy of Film and Television Award (BAFTA), American Cinema Editors (ACE) Eddie award, and International Press Academy’s Golden Satellite award for “Best Film Editing” for The Hurt Locker, with co-editor, Bob Murawski, ACE. The two were honored with “Best Editing” awards from Boston Film Critics, Las Vegas Film Critics, International Cinephile, and Online Film Critics Societies.
Some of Innis’ editorial credits include Sam Raimi’s cult TV show American Gothic (lead editor, Universal/CBS) starring Gary Cole, Sarah Paulson, and Lucas Black; Raimi’s The Gift (music editor) starring Cate Blanchett, Hilary Swank and Keanu Reeves; Raimi’s original Marvel blockbuster, the first Spider-man (music editor: temp score and temp title sequence editor) starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe and James Franco; and Ridley Scott’s Navy Seals film G.I.Jane (associate editor) starring Demi Moore, Viggo Mortensen and Anne Bancroft. She worked her way up alongside Academy Award®-winning film editor, Pietro Scalia, ACE, with whom she first worked on the Oliver Stone film JFK, a best picture Oscar® nominee and ”Best Film Editing” Oscar®-winning film starring Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland. In recent years she has been doing film edit doctoring and directing.
Innis is an elected member, and has served as an associate director on the 2014-2016 board of the American Cinema Editors (ACE). She is also a member of BAFTA.
Innis is a producer for cult film distributor, Grindhouse Releasing/Box Office Spectaculars with her co-producer/husband, Bob Murawski. She recently co-produced the digital restoration (first-time release in the U.S. on Blu-Ray/DVD) of the 1966 spaghetti western, The Big Gundown, starring Lee Van Cleef (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), written by long-time Sergio Leone collaborator, Sergio Donati and directed by Sergio Sollima, as well as the re-release and digital restoration of the 1968 cult film, The Swimmer, screenplay by Eleanor Perry and directed by Frank Perry from the John Cheever short story, starring Burt Lancaster, which won an International Press Academy Satellite Award for “Best Overall Blu-ray/DVD.”
Innis appears in the documentary 78/52 directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, a post-modern breakdown of the iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. The documentary also features interviews with Guillermo del Toro, Elijah Wood, Jamie Lee Curtis, Peter Bogdanovich, Walter Murch, and Illeana Douglas. She appears in Alexandre O. Philippe’s Criterion Channel documentary shorts about Michelangelo Antonioni films, L’Eclisse and L’Avventura, Existential Zombies: Antonioni’s L’Eclisse and Modern Love: Michelangelo Antonioni’s L’Eclisse.
Lynn Lowery is an American actress, screenwriter and producer. She is best known for her work in horror films, having appeared in the cult films I Drink Your Blood (1970), George A. Romero’s The Crazies (1973), and David Cronenberg’s Shivers (1975).
