An Entrepreneurial Adventure for Middle School Youth
Objectives:
-Discover your inner creative YOU!
-Rack your brain with out-of-the-box thinking that will lead you to create a great business.
-Take on the Challenge with your friends!
INVENTURE Day Includes:
-Widget Distribution
- Product Development
- INVENTURE DAY Factory— Target Market, Branding, Finance
- Lunch with an Entrepreneur
- Product Pitch Competion
WHO: Boys and Girls, ages 10-13
WHEN: Thursday, July 6, 900AM-3:00PM
WHERE: Otoe County Fair Center
WHAT TO BRING: sack lunch and personal device if you have one.
INSTRUCTORS: Extension Educators Dagen Valentine, Kaytlyn Kennedy and Rex Nelson; Hannah Esch, 4-H Summer Aide; and business community volunteers.
COST: $10.00 for all materials and an Otoe County 4-H T-shirt.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, July 5. Call the Otoe County Extension Office at 402-269-2301 to register. Maximum 25 youth.
WHAT: Using innovation and creation, teams of youth will develop their own unique business around a given product. Teams will move through the INVENTURE Factory completing challenges to cultivate their business ideas. At the end of the assembly line, teams will present their ideas to local business mentors. The winning team will receive a trip to Innovation Campus in Lincoln in late fall.
