Lincoln is in the path of the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017, which you may note is the very first day of classes! The Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law program welcomes all students, faculty, and staff to join us 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. out on the courtyard to celebrate this awesome solar event and the beginning of a new school year. You bring your main dish - we’ll supply SUN chips as a side and MOON pies for dessert! The mood will be set with our ‘Songs for Space (Law): The Fabulous Forty’ playlist (created by our faculty and alumni http://law.unl.edu/songsforspace/). We have 250 pairs of eclipse viewing glasses available, which must be used to safely view the partial eclipse. The eclipse may be viewed with the naked eye only during full totality. The partial eclipse will begin at 11:37 a.m. and the total eclipse will occur at 1:02 p.m. The total eclipse will last 1 minute and 24 seconds, during which we will obviously be blaring Pat Benatar’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” For more information on the eclipse check out:
