Outdoor open house: Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law program

Date:
Time:
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Maxwell Arboretum picnic table area
This has been an intensely weird year, right? We’ve lost the great sense of community that makes Nebraska special – I hope this is something we can rekindle with you all as alumni starting this year. I’ve been reviewing the COVID guidelines, as I want to find a place for students engaged in Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications law to celebrate their achievements, and I think we can safely do so! I know most of our 2020 grads are out of the state, but should you be traveling back for the graduation ceremony we welcome you to this celebration as well.

The day prior to the ceremony, Thursday May 6 from 4:30-5:30, we will have an outdoor open house. This is a low-key opportunity for pictures and I’ll provide bottled drinks and pre-wrapped cookies. Kids/family welcome (though I can’t have much in the way in of children’s entertainment, so come prepared). We will meet on east campus, over by the Maxwell Arboretum and picnic tables just to the east of the Yuetter gardens. Masks are required, and we will be set up to encourage and facilitate distancing. The faculty and I will make a few toasts at 5pm, but otherwise, there will not be a program. So, in sum:

• Outdoor open house Thursday May 6 from 4:30-5:30
• Celebrating JDs and LLMs in the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law program
• Masks required, even outdoors, when not distanced
• Caps/gowns welcome for picture taking
• Prewrapped cookies and bottled beverages
• Because we have to be very respectful of the head count, or we’ll get in trouble, 3 or fewer (plus you) family members are welcome and only the graduating class is welcome (1L and 2L friends can cheer from afar!)
• Brief toasts at 5pm, but no formal program
• We will be in the Maxwell Arboretum picnic table area, just to the east of the Yuetter gardens)
