Join us for a live-streamed webinar moderated by Kevin Smith, University of Kansas Dean of Libraries, on the vision for the future of open access and “Envisioning a World Beyond Article Processing Charges.”

Internationally-respected scholars, publishers, university librarians, and executives from foundations and organizations will address questions and problems in the open access movement, including the concept of “flipping” the current subscription model of scholarly publishing to one that provides free access to readers paid for by article-processing charges from authors or their institutions.

The organizers intend to engage an international audience in a lively discussion. Panelists will describe their vision for an open access future and engage local respondents and the global viewing audience in thought-provoking dialogue.

If you are unable to join us, feel free to access the webinar on your own at: https://openaccess.ku.edu/symposium/livestream

The University of Kansas Libraries, Open Access Network, Allen Press and SPARC are jointly sponsoring an international symposium, “Envisioning a World Beyond Article Processing Charges,” in Lawrence, Kansas, on Thursday and Friday, November 17-18, 2016.
