This year marks the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings (1066) when the Normans conquered the English, the narrative of which is represented in the famous Bayeux Tapestry. The UNL Medieval and Renaissance Studies program is proud to have Lisa Reilly, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Architectural History at the University of Virginia coming to speak on the Bayeux Tapestry and the coronation cloak of Roger II of Sicily. By his death, Roger had succeeded in uniting all the Norman land holdings in Italy into one kingdom.
