Double Reed Day kicks off with the concert featuring guest artists/clinicians Richard Svoboda, Principal Bassoonist of the Boston Symphony, and Heather Armstrong, Assistant Professor of Oboe and Theory at Luther College.
The repertoire will include Concerto in d minor for two oboes by Antonio Vivaldi, Recit et Allegro by Noël Gallon, Pibroch, for oboe and drones, 1981 by Melinda Maxwell, Three Pieces for bassoon piano by Halsey Stevens, “Signs Of” for oboe and recorded electronics by Maurice Monhardt, and Concerto in D major, “Le Phenix” by Michel Corrette.
The concert is on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 pm in Westbrook Recital Hall, Room 119. This event is FREE and open to the public.
