The Symphonic Band will give a concert they’re calling ABSOLUTE MUSIC, conducted by Anthony Falcone and featuring faculty guest artist, Paul Haar on tenor saxophone.
The repertoire will include Canzona (1951) by Peter Mennin, two movements from Go! (2008), II. Go Slow and III. Go Fast, by Bob Mintzer. After the intermission the concert will conclude with Fantasies on a Theme by Haydn (1968) by Norman Dello Joio, and Symphony No. 6 for Band, Op. 69 (1956) by Vincent Persichetti.
The concert is on Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 pm in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets: General admission $5, student/senior $3, available at the door approx. one hour before the performance.
