Learn how to work with undergraduate students in this workshop designed for international teaching assistants (ITAs) who are getting ready to teach in the American classroom. The workshop will cover important actions ITAs can take before the semester begins and learn about expectations of American undergraduate students in order to more effectively interact with students. Cross-sharing of cultural norms and expectations from participants’ home countries will provide reflective opportunities to determine how best to interact with American undergraduate students. Participants will share expectations of instructors and students, discuss similarities and differences between different educational systems, cultures, and countries, reflect on the impact of these differences in the classroom, and learn common words and phrases used

Registration & Enrollment This workshop is limited to 25 participants. Registration runs from January 2 through Friday, January 26 at 12PM CT. STEM/SBE grad students and postdocs from CIRTL institutions receive priority; we refer to the institution, role, and discipline in your website profile when assessing priority.
