Event Details:
•The event is intended to provide an opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of animal activities that go on after dark.
•Light traps and other collection methods will be used to observe insects as we listen for the calls of crickets, katydids, and cicadas which increase as the evening progresses. Overhead, we’ll observe bat activity while we look and listen for other sights and sounds of the night-time preserve.
•Guides for the evening event include Dr. Ted Burk (Creighton University), Dr. Karen Murch-Shafer (UNO), Dr. Jeremy White (UNO), and Brad Carlson (UNO).
•Headlamps will be helpful for a night hike.
•Come prepared for mosquitos.
