Bring your unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications to the Nebraska Union between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to safely dispose of them. A licensed pharmacist and a campus police officer will accept any medications, no matter who they were prescribed to or what container they are in.
Why is this important? More than 6 million Americans age 12 and older have used a prescription drug non-medically in the last month. Drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the United States. Properly disposing of expired and unused medications reduces the risk of accidental overdoses.
This event is sponsored by the UNMC College of Nursing and Big Red Resilience & Well-being.
