Under LB 561, juvenile offenders in the community will now be under the supervision of the Office of Probation Administration in the Nebraska Supreme Court, shifting the focus away from incarceration to rehabilitation for the roughly 3,000 youth going in and out of the system every year. This Seminar will introduce stakeholders to the operation and function of the new system, address changes in existing case law and provide an overview of what stakeholders may expect with the implementation of LB561.
The Seminar is designed to provide essential information to attorneys, DHHS, mental health professionals and service providers under the former Office of Juvenile Services.
